Grasshoppers - Respectfully Captured and Truly Awesome

I am fascinated by Nature and would occasionally spend hours reading or watching it on the flatscreen. I would like to share four beautifully captured pictures of grasshoppers by my Flickr friend,Robert, an avid nature photographer currently working in Colombia, South America. Here they are:

The stripes and colour combination are perfect. And look
at the lovely cloak around its neck.

Another exquisite colouring, pleasant and attractive
and yet safely blending with its surrounding

Captured head on! Amazing pose as if neatly arranged by Robert

Who could have painted this "jewel" hopper thus but Nature!

For a breathless arm-chair tour of more of Robert's works of wonder, please visit him at  his photostream.

For those who are insects-phobic, you may not like this delectable spread of Nature's great creations and will unfortunately miss the principle of camouflage in forests to sustain life at all cost. Camouflage tricks among treehoppers in Robert's photos are just unbelievable.

The names of all those insects are also made available as Robert is not only a great professional photographer, he also shows great respect for creatures he photographs by ensuring that they have entomological names!

Robert, this post is a testimony of my deep appreciation of your work. May you continue to mesmerize us with those unique images of Nature.
